About TADD

In response to numerous deaths caused by texting and driving, lawyer, Jason Epstein from Seattle, WA. and other law groups from around the nation founded Teens Against Distracted Driving (TADD). The TADD program’s objective is to educate teens about the dangers of driving while distracted. Teenagers from around Seattle are in this program to spread the word. They create posters, fliers, edit websites, etc.

A study done at the University of Utah showed that while people are texting and driving it reduces their attention level down to that of a person with an alcohol level of 0.08%.

“Motorists who write text messages while driving are six times more likely to crash than those who don’t text while driving…” Click here for more information about the study.

Although people know the dangers of distracted driving they still do it anyways. “For convenience,” responded one person when asked why they would drive distracted knowing the risk involved. Now why would you risk your life just to save a few seconds of time?

With your help we can encourage others to stop distracted driving and encourage others like Jason has. Help us spread the word, pledge now! I PLDG 2 NT TXT N DRV

Hi Jason –

We chatted a couple weeks ago. I work for Issaquah Parks & Recreation with the Issaquah Youth Advisory Board. They are very interested in having you speak at one of their meetings. Would you be interested in doing that? The 35 kids meet on the first and third Tuesday nights of each month, 7:00pm. Upcoming meetings:

Tuesday, April 6th
Tuesday, April 20th
Tuesday, May 4th

We meet at the Issaquah Community Center, 301 Rainier Blvd South, 98027.

Let me know if this interests you! THANKS!

Hi Jason,

Thank you for attending our Teen Section Services meeting today, it was great to meet you. Your group and the message you are sending is so important and the numbers were staggering. We can’t wait to have you come to our Community Center here in Kent and speak with teens around the South Sound about this dangerous problem.

Great information, great presentation, well done. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon.
